Sales rules say that you can't sell new items. So you can only sell as second hand, generally you're looking at about 2/3rds price of new. Personally, I'd take it back.

You get older. Then your eye accommodation gets less because your eye lenses harden and the muscles pulling them into focus weaken. So your focus distance changes from no problem with three inches and no problem with the moon, to a band of distances in between.

The iron sights on all of my pistols are well out of focus - unless I wear my computer monitor glasses. They allow me a minimum focus distance of about 30 inches which is just about where the iron sights of the pistols are. I can wear these in the kitchen because everything is more or less in focus. I have closer focussing reading glasses for reading small print and fine stuff

If the sights are in reasonably good focus it might not matter so much if the target is not so well focussed.

The trick is to get the prescription of the lenses to be a compromise. I find I like simple pistol shooting. The next pair of prescription glasses I get will be a compromise for iron sighting focus and target focus. After all what does it cost for a pair of glasses versus the cost of your guns and enjoyment of your hobby?

Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

Yep. Take it back - even if it means taking a credit note rather than a refund.

Measure the distance from your eye to the front sight in normal holding position. get a cheap set of specs to get the sight in focus and you will be able to enjoy a lot more toys. Should cost you less than £40 and that is less than a round of golf nowadays. above all
