    Refinish Crosman 111

Just got my old 111 back from gingernut on here, a great little bulk fill pistol. I would like to refinish in black, has anyone managed to get a good finish back on these pistols that have been polished. Willing to try any paint or chemical.

    Baz

The 116 you saw has been repainted black

Seemed a good job to me

But now there are a couple of chips where the brass shows through

    So good shout for advice

I’d be grateful if you could let me know where you got your filler adapter?

a german cold blacking is supposed to work on brass (i've not tried it ) but i have tried the antique blacking selesium products and was sadly disapointed and i read about using a washing whitener that supposedly cause brass to go black if boiled in a solution of it
the original finish is painted unlike the benjy's and sheridans which was something like ebanol c
i have a 105 in a tatty finish which now i've resealed it ,needs a paint but not decided on what to use but i may plate it nickel then black nickel it

    crosman bulk fill

I've got a 116, has a slight fine black orange peel finish, belonged to a friend who died last december, one of many guns i've got to sell, looks a bit like eggshell sprayed on paint.
any idea how much these are worth ? this one is very clean and fitted with walnut grips, sorry to jump on the back of a thread.

    black chromeing

Hi I used to use a company called, GATEHOUSE SURFACE TREATMENTS, aylesbury, they did black chroming, i used to send electronic connectors there to get plated, only thing is plating builds up, so threads etc might need tapping out after or covering to stop plating in certain places.

I'd like to try some DuraCoat but it is quite expensive and the nearest stockist appears to be in Estonia.

The Youtube videos have it in a two part epoxy type can but it seems you can mix it yourself in a spraying kit.
