Hi all, I just mounted a brand new Hawke scope to my rifle. At 25 yards. The pellet hit 4 inches below my aim point. Is this normal?

Yep, that isn't an issue.
It just seams a large amount to adjust.
Is this normal?
That's not unusual, no

Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.....
You could shim the scope to get it closer.
This supposed to be the proper way.
Repariere nicht, was nicht kaputtist.

I believe that your Hawke scope has at least 40 up/down and left/right clicks of adjustment from optical center. FWIW, Mine was off about 6" when I started. Hawke site. https://us.hawkeoptics.com/airmax-30...44-amx-ir.html
Also double check that the mounts are sitting on the rail properly, if they are dovetails.

Shooting Air Rifles is like being a pubic hair on a toilet seat.
Eventually someone comes a long and P's you off.
They usually have a PCP
It is a problem I have helped customers with...probably a hundred times over the years
When optically centered the pellet should be ABOUT 2" low at 10 yards.
Try this
You will find that yours is lower, which means sight line and barrel are diverging at the start. Trying to compensate is a lower.
Sort the problem out, don't try to mask it.
