    Optima Gamekeeper alternative

I have loved this since first seeing them in the magazines back in the 1980's but never actually had one.
Last year I got a 4x21 ao scope and it is a fabulous thing. I have had it on air guns, rimfire, centre fire and it is currently on my shotgun, but the glass is sketchy (it appears to be dusty on the inside) and at only £43 I don't expect it to last long slinging slugs downrange.

I want to find a replacement before I break it, where do I get a decent one? The internet is full of these cheapy airsoft versions, but I am looking for something a whole lot betterererer?

What about a simmons 1.5-5-20 diamond shotgun scope? if you can find one they are good very much like the 1.5-5-20 wtc but with a different reticule and they are 1/2" per click rather than the usual 1/4" click

No . Never bought one . Russ Douglas will be doing a review if he has not already done one.

I was looking at the one you currently have as I have always hankered after the hakko made optima original. Have so far decided not to buy as I suspected I would be disappointed. From your report I was right not to. But if i can get one shipped a lot cheaper I would be tempted even if I had to open it and clean the lenses lol

Would a sturdy red dot work for your giant shotgun propelled diablos fun?

Yes, but as I'm making the pellets myself I want to go ott on accuracy testing! https://youtu.be/GWc6KcE6X2U

I don't regret buying it despite the problems, and would probably get another simply cos it's so useable. It's just that I would be happy to buy the original right now for considerably more. I could then bust this down to the Glock

Rather than a telescope sight, maybe it would be better with an EOTech or an M68 Aimpoint on top?

That's what I have. The flip up cover broke as I removed the scope from the box, the yardage ring on the AO wasn't glued to the tube and there are specks on the lenses that can be seen while in use.
Other than that it really is a good little scope for the money, but if there was a properly made one for £250-300 I would buy it in a heartbeat!

It would appear that there is no "original" of this to buy so I will try and clean this one and/or buy another couple to see if I get a better one.
