At £12 per 100 they aren't worth it (imo) for the rare occasion when they give benefit over a std diabolo.
Interesting they may be, a game changer ?? nope

They look like they are lead cups with the noses swaged into a curve. That would be possible to turn into a mass production item if there was sufficient demand. I hope it goes well for the manufacturer.

Have you seen the expansion they offer at sub 12? They expand from 4.5mm to 7.5mm reliably. I also tried them, shooting through the bottom of 2 litre pop bottles filled with water from 20 yards. I compared them to JSB Exacts, and H&N terminators. Neither of those expanded or even deformed in that test. The Mako slugs basically tore themselves into pieces. You wont get any over pen with these.

The proof is in the pudding, as they say. At £15.25 delivered they won't break the bank so ordered a tin/box/bag etc. And we'll see how they perform at some point before the midges put a dampener on hanging around for precession...

If you do get some, be interested in your thoughts from receiving through to shooting

Placed an order yesterday and received both confirmation and shipping notice. So far so good, It'll likely be a week or three before I get out for a look but when I do I'll report back.

When I saw the thread initially I was minded of the furore around Club Shot's (Bob) promotion of a boat tailed solid round, back in the dim and distant past, highly entertaining as it was the ammo itself, other than the very interesting debate around ballistics, was of little interest to me by way of practical application, what would I ever have used them for?

These look to be a much more practical round concept, although I absolutely get Angry Bears point on cost and application: what will it do that a regular waisted round won't? At sub 12fpe.

But my interest is pipped and I think it'll be fun to have a look see for myself.

Despite sounding negative, I also look forwards to seeing your results.

At what impact range was that particular expansion measured ??
because unless it's at "normal hunting range" it counts for nothing

As it I'll wait & see if when .20 & .25 are available (I've got a block of ballistic jell sat in the freezer) but as I said in MY opinion at that price (£60+ for 500 ) they won't give enough benefit to be "a game changer"

The shots into the bottle were from 20 yards. The other was shot into a bucket of water from around 3ft

Top pic is water expansion. Mako on the left, H&N Terminator in the mid and JSB exacts on the right. Same for the bottom pic through the bottle at 20 yards. 3 mako slugs this time though.

mine just arrived.. will do some prelim testing at 20 yards when the wind dies down to see which barrels look promising.
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
