Aussie Seals - Green or Red?

I notice that there's two sorts on offer, the red claims to be self lubricating but with a concave face.

What's the difference in an HW80?

The green material he uses seems to be less resilient than other seal materials, so easier to damage on installment.

I've used both and found the green can wear a bit prematurely, especially if you have an older (and maybe slightly oversized) cylinder bore. Swapped over to the red seals to remedy the situation and tbh, stuck with them ever since.

I know one thing that will be the same with both types.
....they could both still take up to 3 months to arrive
    ....never again.

    STR8SHOOT3R,

I have used the red Custom Air Seals (Aussie) piston seals in quite a number of rifles & pistols, with complete satisfaction.

Have fun & a good weekend

    Best regards

I've not used the green ones but, I have put the red ones in a '97 and a TX.

They had to be sized a little but, both worked very well 👍

    All of the above.

I had asked Laurie a few years back if he could do a longer seal for an 80 he said yes but it would cost me stupid money for one seal ... then low and behold he's now making them

Neither... VORTEK Vac seal is better than both IMHO.

I use the red ones, have now for several years and have never had to replace one. Before this Covid crap hit the world, i was getting delivery's in around two weeks from the order but had to wait several months the middle of last year which was a pain. In January i made an order and that took three weeks to arrive, so things are getting better.
The red ones can be machined if you need to adapt it to fit other applications / rifles so these are very handy. So for me the reds rule..
TX200 Mk2. 5.0mm cal. TX200 Mk3. 6.35mm cal. Hw 99s 5.0mm cal. Hw57 5.5mm cal, re engineered pop up breech removed, 22mm piston bore. Lots of others. TAGS member also..

The couple of seals I had have been blue.

    Pete
Far too many rifles to list now, all mainly British but the odd pesky foreigner has snuck in
