    Mercury or Brum Longbow?

Not currently in a financial position to buy another gun, but hope to soon - or sell a pushie or gun to do so.

Recent threads have had me thinking about the above two British break barrels.

The Mercury passed me by BITD, I understand there were Mk 1 to 3 & S versions.

The Longbow - after owning the dreaded Hawk Mk 2, never had a later Webley rifle - altho' I (whisper it) prefer my Hurries/Tempest to my steel Wobbley pistols for accuracy. But I've heard/read good things about it. Came very close to buying on a few years back, but something came up.

From the ads I've seen, Longbows are pricier. Also that at least 2 dealer ads mentioned their BSA's were down on power...

Any thorts from people who own or have owned both?

    TIA

    Bru

I have both, and the Longbow for me as well.
A nicer gun all round, and well worth having imo.

Never had a Mercury, though I have had a lot of springers, and the Longbow is in my top two or three, up there with the FWB Sport.

Iv'e had a lot of Mercurys and a Challenger in .25 that was a fun gun to shoot
what you hit did make quite a thud. Anyhoo if you try a Merc you might get roped in they are nice and easy to fettle.
    Just my groats worth.
