One bit of advice - I personally would never send an air rifle in one piece if the action could easily be removed from the stock. An air rifle sent intact runs the risk of getting the stock broken at the neck, and I speak from bitter experience.

If work has you near a Gunshop most are pleased to offload boxes 'cos they often have to pay for disposal.
As said separate stock from action will get you under the 1m threshold.
Hi Sam,
Mk.3 stock is 24"
Mk.3 action is just under 31"
I don't have an Airsporter immediately to hand.
And if sending an Airsporter especially taken apart make a packer of wood or something to go between the stock cheeks to avoid damage as they smap like carrots otherwise
I always send guns broken down to both to often avoid the length threshold and to make the parcel look less "gunny"!
