    General Knowledge Question

Someone is bound to remember this, about 20 years ago I bought my first pcp, it was an air arms s400 or 300 can’t remember, I nearly bought a pcp that was a lightweight hunting gun with a titanium air cylinder, it was simulate to the air arms but it was a daystate or a Titan or falcon or something along those lines!

Can anyone remember what it was?

    I don’t remember a factory gun with a Ti tube. I thought they were/are all aftermarket/custom modifications.

No it definitely did have, it was quite rare and even then the one I seen was the last one new in a gunshop! Remember the boy giving it all the “you won’t find another one of these new” patter

You could be thinking of the Daystate Mirage XLR. Not sure about the titanium but it's seriously lightweight. I still have my .25 sporter version.

Aluminium, though, isn’t it? Not Ti.

Forgot that one. You may have discovered the head of the nail.

Wonder why the Ti/Alu cylinder thing is no longer a thing. Safety issue?

Yes, that sounds like the one.

Both metals are still being used, titanium is rare as it is expensive and a little more challenging to machine.
People who have been there focus on the fundamentals. People who sit at keyboards all day focus on the trivial and inane.
