It is indeed very tatty but as an original I would think it's worth 25-30 quid. I could be well out though as I'm not very Au Fait with old boxes. There are others who will have a much better idea

Tatty, but original and repairable so £20-£30 would not seem unreasonable.

I've seen far worse and the box can be carefully restored and glued back together. I'd have said an early box like this was worth £50+

It ought to enhance the value of an unboxed example by at least £50.

Currently looking for Baikal Makarov pistols with the following prefixes to the serial number: 98, T01, T09, T21, T22
Prefer boxed or cased but will consider loose examples too.

Some nut will give good folding for it no doubt - but you'd have to pay me to take it away...

So spend more to buy it than it would enhance the value of a gun + add time, effort, patience and materials on it ?

I like it and would love it as a keeper but not too sure about the economic side of it.

That's a nice early box with the London & Birmingham address, even though it is in need of a bit of careful restoration, and I would agree a price of £25 - £30 wouldn't seem unreasonable.
