    Really short .177 lead pellets...

I'm after the above for my old paratrooper.. most pellets (tried the usual wadcutters, e.g. bisley practice, hobby) are a fraction too long, and get their skirts deformed by the loading gate. They shoot, but velocity is impaired compared with direct breech loading.

IIRC the old wasps were very short - is there a modern equivalent ?

I was reading that thinking ‘wasps’ until I got to the end Jon.

Accupels always felt a bit on the dumpy side?

The old? Gamo Match pellets where the shortest I could find for the Gamo 1200 repeater that has the same problem.
They where in a black/red tin.

Back in the day I unsurprisingly got best results with Gamo brand wadcutters, which I’m sure were designed for the repeater mech (or vice versa). Maybe the old “Balines Tipo A”? Even they were way below 100% reliable.

    I think Wasps were OK-ish.

    Tried Marksmans?

Yes, I recall marksman being on the short side too - and a flatish "round" head. Accupells is a good idea too...

I needed short pellets to cycle my Haenel 28R pistol. Searched and searched and found the common Crosman Wadcutter was perfect! The most common pellet in the US. Lol

Yep, always had problems feeding other pellets than the Gamo match in the 1200.

Lead roundballs feed well in the loading shuttle, but tend to bulge the magazine wall outwards and cause problems that way if you load the magzaine full.

The round balls may work in the paratrooper?

The shortest pellets I have recently experienced are the Russian Kvintor Delta, light too, at 4.63 grains, and made of lead!

    BUT...

    £10 for a tub of 400.

They work really well in my Zastava, so well that I can even fit 7 in the magazine and throw even more money, more quickly at the target.
Too many guns, or not enough time?
