The shortest pellets I have recently experienced are the Russian Kvintor Delta, light too, at 4.63 grains, and made of lead!

    BUT...

    £10 for a tub of 400.

They work really well in my Zastava, so well that I can even fit 7 in the magazine and throw even more money, more quickly at the target.
Too many guns, or not enough time?

    it's funny you say that...

Just went through the stockpile and measured the shortest contenders...

    from left to right

    H&N Defiant sniper light 5.4mm
    Eley wasp 5.4mm
    JSB Express 5.25mm
    H&N Excite wadcutters 5.0mm
    4.4mm copper coated ball
JSB Diabolo 8.4 for comparison (were getting scrunched) 6.2mm

So the expresses or the excites seem to be the winners Will try them in the gamos tomorrow

Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

Think you have the Wasp and the Defiant listed the wrong way round.

Quite nostalgic, that time when almost all pellets were short and squat, and things like the JSB on the right looked weird (though maybe - then - modern).

Good spot mr K, now fixed.

Yup, with the .22 wasps it was even more pronounced that the .177s - they were like balls.

Accupel/ Crossman premier are pretty short, remind me of old wasps.
