    airsportet mk2/scope

Has anyone ever sucessesfully fitted a telescopic sight to a mk2 airsporter? It has 4 slots in the cylinder but when i mounted a 4x32 scope the eye relief was about 5". The slots in the cylinder seem too far forward.Any thoughts anyone??

I have the same, being a bit rough cosmetically I bonded a scope rail on, fitted a sabre 4/32 scope with both scope mounts to front of turret and bingo the eye reliefs is spot on and it's a nice shooting rifle.
The scope rail of flea bay about £13, J B weld and can be removed .😊👍🇬🇧

There are mounts available which will move the scope laterally along the rifle by an inch or two.
Look in the usual places but Ali Express has some cheap versions.
Many scopes need a couple of inches of eye relief so they might do the job for you.
I will try a scope on my own Mk 2 Airsporter tonight just for curiosity.

Don't they use a weird dovetail size. I remember fitting a decent scope to one years ago and having to use Parker Hale mounts because nothing else would fit. The BSA Mk1 plastic scope had adjustable width clamps ? but were a very poor substitute for open sights

I bought a MK2 A/S a few years ago with an scope fitted , using the four slots.
The previous owner had struggled to get mounts to fit correctly , and had to spend a fair amount on a fire arms style pair of mounts.

There is a MK2 A/S with two long scope rails - GF serial numbers

    mk scope

Thanks for the input. used a set of sportmatch to48 which modified to fit. These are 15mm wide ,the same ones ive used to mount a scope on my mk2 meteor. removed about 2mm from the base so they clear the cylinder of the airsporter. What ive now done is order a 4x20 scope off the bay because it looks longer and the eye releif may work out right. The mounts that come with the scope look feeble and will soon spread the extra couple of mil. keep you all informed. Thanks

Knibbs offer these bases especially for the Mk2, though showing as out of stock.
