    Classic glass newbie

    So I’ll admit, for someone who generally buys secondhand rifles, I’m crap when it comes to vintage glass. Don’t really know the manufacturers, the models, or much else on them for that matter...

    So basically I’m looking for suggestions please. I’m pretty flexible so long as not breaking the bank but the needs are;

    - Glossy black preferred
    - Adjustable parallax is a MUST
    - Smaller than 50mm objective as I hate high mounts

    Any suggestions or fountains of knowledge appreciated so I know what to keep an eye out for when I have some spare pocket money!

    Thanks in advance

    What do you want to put it on?

    Sounds like you might want an Optima Moonlighter or similar 1980s Hakko-made scope. Or a Tasco TR.

    I have a Tasco TR 4-16x40 PA with black gloss finish.
    Mach 1.5 on here will have a lot more knowledge of the classic scopes from the past.

    Leupold Vari-xIII is the range you want to be looking at, Tom.
    Put on heading 270, assume attack formation

    Cheers for the suggestions guys, it’ll end up on an SSP most likely so mid 80’s to 90’s is about the right time scale
