    Laisar12

    As above the LAISAR12…

Anyone have any info or pictures? Anyone held or even owned/do own one?

I know hardly any were made but the damn things seem VERY elusive… anything appreciated

I was offered one when new and didn't buy it..... I probably would have moved it on as I did at the time... There is little on the Web I know I have looked, I did find a couple of pics and I know AGW did a review. I have had a few SSPs but never seen another Laiser 12, if the stories are true Graham Bluck had one!!

Yes, I'm pretty sure I handled one some time ago. I'm sure the owner still has it and I will be meeting him in the next couple of weeks.
I'll make some inquiries and try and get some photos.

Not a problem; I'll report back soon.

Is there any specific aspect of the rifle that you want to see in more detail/know more about?

My initial impressions of it were that it was actually a lot lighter than it looked and it balanced very well in the shoulder. The effort required to cock it was very manageable but it was probably not the most convenient rifle to use in a hide .

Not particularly a specific aspect, more just visibility on the ones that were produced. Obviously everyone wants to see the compound lever in action

As you say though I can imagine it not being great in a hide or confined space!

I bought one years ago, maybe 1985/86? looked lovely, cocking was easier than the Dragon, BUT I couldn't hit a barn door from inside the barn with the door shut, shame as it held a lot of promise. Brass looked great, but the barrel blueing bronzed up.

And I thought my Dragon was complicated.

Yea 270+ degree swing using Bowketts compound lever design. Reduces cocking stiffness by increasing movement and changing the pivot point is the theory.

I’ve still got a couple of John Bowkett’s rifles with that cocking mechanism; surprisingly easy once you get the knack!
