Hi, I have gone back through my purchases..... It was Sapper custom who I bought from, but I can't see he's active at the moment.... I have seen a few Baikal bits for sale on there, they come and go.

    Wanted Baikal mp-53m/izh-53

Hi I am in need of either a complete late pistol, ambidectorous (?) or one for spares. The sear that mates with the bear trap wrack has broken. Not repairable.
Any help would be grately appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Cheers.

    Hi Geoff.

You can use plain old rubber seals and washers if you can find sets of them on the interwebz, like amazon or fleabay. There shouldn't be anything special about them. I bought a set of each of nat rubber, plastic and silicone seals and washers. The only seal I can't find is the one that is v shaped head seal for where the mag meets the barrel on my MP654K.

As far as I know at least some of the seals should be the same across all baikal guns. There IS a baikal specialist in the UK as I've been on their website but I'd be damned if I can remember the name of it.. Try looking for mp512 parts as I believe they are very similar.

If you can't find any whatsoever let me know and I'll send you some of my MP654K seals to see if they help any.

Hello shivadow Thank you for your kind message. I did manage to get a couple of seals but they had a problem in that they were much thicker, so less compression space and a rather loose fit in the cylinder. The original seal is only 6 mm. thick. The good news is that I have managed to find a sear in America.
If I can't find a solution then I will come back to you.
    Cheers.

Sellers I've previously bought from on fleabay
    para_bellum1995
    saper-custom

The used to be another one who sold tuning kits but they no longer seem to do parts. I got my tuning kits there.

Hello thank you, I have actually just used parra-bellum1995 and he has supplied some seals that are almost the same, after thinking about the seal that was fitted it may be that it has shrunken with age, brown colour and so hard I had to cut it off the piston. no way would it seal in the cylinder.
A certain dealer I had used advertising a lot of spares, I have just had put in a claim to paypal because of no supply or contact with and been refunded so be careful.
Thank you all for your help.
    Cheers.

    Hi Geoff

If you have any form of yellowing of the clear seals then you need to strip the gun and the magazine head to replace ALL of the seals except for the metal washer in the mag head as that is reusable but DO NOT LOSE IT as you won't get another one! You'll notice as you remove the seals they'll stress and form small cracks within the material. When done the gun will fire so much nicer and reassuringly. When reassembling make sure you tighten everything as tight as it will possibly go or you'll have leaks. If it's the first time you've opened it you'll be in for a fight so buy the right tools or you'll damage stuff! Even if it feels tight use leverage for that bit more. The threads can easily take it.

If you can find the Mercedes valve for it you definitely should get one and a cheap chrono. Be prepared to shock the pants of yourself! With brand new seals it's pretty effin scary!

a_rodchenko was another I used but that's the one that doesn't seem to sell baikal stuff anymore.

Hi thank you we seem to be possibly talking about something different here!
Mine does not have a magazine, it is a single shot springer pistol. Doing between 2.8 and 2.9 ft-lbs. Would not mind a bit more, a big long soft spring and a relativley short stroke, I think thay is about it.
    Cheers.
    Geoff.
