Interested in what you guys think about a Ben Taylor HFT400 Rapid

So its been a while since I posted on here, I've just been busy doing other stuff and things, but I've come back as I have one I think is a very special rifle and I'm interested in what you guys might have to say about it.

In Feb 2006 I drove up to Ben Taylor and Sons in Cambridge, and picked up what I deem to be a very special HFT400 rapid, and I have used it a lot, its been serviced very regularly by a local specialist, and now...It's just not getting used as much as it should be.
I'm hunting a lot more with FAC air rifles and I simply cannot just "turn it up" and ruin what I feel was a Rapid...er blueprinted for want of better words.

Neither do I want to beat it up, hunting with it if it is a bit special

So its sits, in its bag snoozing while other rifles are out playing.

Which brings me to my where you guys hopefully come in.
Is it as special a rifle as I feel, (and I'm sure other people feel) it is.
Or is it just a custom rapid made by BTAS that has absolutely nothing going for it, above it being.... just a Rapid.
I kind of get the feeling it's like owning a Subaru Colin Mcrae once owned but never raced, its just the one he went down Asda's in... if that makes sense.

yes I'll admit I'm possibly playing with the idea of maybe letting it go. It needs to be shot more regularly than I shoot it, and part exing it in at a local gun shop...meh...it'll just be treated like it's a rapid...and I think its possibly more than that.

Equally if it's some sort of "grail" type rifle, I can wrap it in something special, pop it in a hematically sealed vault and wait til it's worth millions

By the way this isn't so I get messages from buyers, I'm genuinely interested in your guys input about it. I kind of feel everyone is all about some tactical black techno rifles these days...(me included). So wondered if this just a bit of worthless nostalgia or if this really is a piece of history.

Thanks guys and its good to be back

Ok, so I get that you think it is special. And it very well maybe but how can we tell without any idea of the specs, stock etc. And particularly pictures, where are the pictures?

Just a Rapid in a BTAS monogrammed stock made by CS stocks Sheffield...no Wizardry involved.

    hft 400 rapid

Got to agree with the above. I had one of these and from memory it was basically a mk2 in a CS stock. I think at the time they were going to do 100? Fairly standard thumbhole stock with a bit of stippling on the handgrip and a little bit on the fore end of the stock, certainly didn't feel particularly 'special'. I guess the only thing you could say was different is that Ben potentially put it together but if it's been looked after by someone else in the interim period i guess maybe not so 'different' now.

My Tawnado (gary cane) MFR did feel special though - wish i'd never sold it!
