I use 35gn v max in my hornet I thought about a sub load but after some thought on it I decided to stick with the .22 rim-fire for anything in subsonic also when i was developing the 35 gr load whilst working up to a load that shot with accuracy I think to get a hornet to shoot a good group in subsonic will be hard ---it was the original roe round before the deer act came in so it wasn't meant to shoot subsonic stick with it going HV in my book

If you can get hold of the "One calibre - one book" for the Hornet I seem to remember there were several loads for subsonic cast bullet's at the back.
Sierra do both 40 & 45gn Hornet bullets but I never tried them sub.
