    Vulcan 2 very impressive

Bit of testing with the vulcan 2 today.

    Very impressive groups.

Would people settle on these pellets or keep going for even better ?

go for better. for sure they are good groups, especially as you are doing 15 shots unlike the 3 (useless) or 5 (slightly better, but still not representative) most people shoot... but do try a few more.

Had similar groups but only at 22 yards the other day in a rapid I'd finished machining the barrel for... then tried QYS 8.5s much better, but some vertical stringing.. checked on the chrono and they gave more energy, but more variable.. weighed a few and realised the weight consistency wasn't great. If I could be arsed I would have sorted them into weight batches. you seem to have the same vert stringing and also using QYS, so do check the weight consistency. Then I tried JSB heavy... oh yeah baby, looked like a single .25 pellet, about 2mm c-c
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

I'd say they're at least as good as I get with my Vulcan 2.

Question for you and Jon - are your QYS pellets in the earlier clear plastic tubs or the later screw tins?
I have a 29-shot string of unweighed QYS Streamlined 9.56gr from my Vulcan 2 that has a 4fps spread, using pellets from a tin.
I have a vague memory of hearing that consistency improved at the same time as the switch from plastic to metal so I'm interested in hearing what you've got.

They are a sample pack of 50 I got.

They are 4.49 and I've so 4.50 and Bisley magnums to try too when get a chance.

Zero bit out too but easily sorted once pellet choices found.

Any one tried weirach magnum in a vulcan 2 ?
