    Quickload.

    Hi,

just wondered if someone with Quickload could please do me a favour and run me some numbers to check out loads for a .270?

Barnes Load Data suggests Min 59.1 - Max 65.7 which is compressed, but the max load seems to be on the high side.
I have emailed Western as they don't have the bullet listed in their reloading data.

Obviously I will be working up carefully checking for signs of pressure, but if someone could crunch the numbers for me I would be grateful.

    Case capacity is 72.6gn H2O
Bullet is 110gn Barnes TTSX - length 1.168"
    BC .377
    Sec Den .205
    Recommended COAL 3.250"
    Powder Ramshot Hunter
    Primer Rem 9 1/2
    Brass Norma Trim length 2.530"
    Barrel 24"

    Thanks.

not sure on your bullet etc as not use to .270s etc
if its .277 110gns ttsxbt 30274 then 59.1 gns gives 3177 fps and is in the yellow
65.7gns is 3522fps and in the red with pressure of 68795psi
above is a compressed load at 102%
have i got the right bullet?

Had a play today, 1st node seemed to be 62.2-62.6. Picked about the middle, 62.4gn, no pressure signs, 3347fps, .563" edge to edge group.

2nd node, 65.3-65.9gn, went for 65.6gn, slight flattening of primers, no cratering, no sticky bolt, compressed, Lee factory Crimp Die very light crimp on the front bearing band at 3.25" COAL
    3504fps, 0.348" edge to edge.
