Stock of the top one looks quite similar in shape to mine - doesn't seem to have the Wiking butt pad though. Does that gun carry a date Dave?

Just adding this useful link to the old Dianawerk Collective forum, which used to be both good and lively, but now seems moribund. Quite useful info.

Good link. My understanding is that some of the knowledgeable and prolific members of that forum have sadly passed away, sadly. Some very good input on that thread. I wish I had been able to participate in it at it's height.

I've always wondered if Germany had a airgun forum bursting with Diana fanatics.

Yes I once frequented and loved the site, was some cracking guys on their and I do remember one being extremely ill at times and had often time away but always took the time to upload images for me in to the archive gallery.
Received loads of support help and guidance from them.
    Excellent resource the best guys.
I used Eddie Cowell 54 guide which was excellent ,loads of help advices from hector too and even tuning bits and parts from fellow Diana lovers

I was on there too. Have hardly visited in the last 2-3 years, because it’s not what it was at all any more.

I bought a brand new 48 in (I think) 1993. It was ordered in by a shop, for me.
It was exactly the same as the 52 at the time, but had a plain stock.
The cylinder was etched "48/52" and it had a TO1 trigger.
My mate had a 52 at the time.

Another model that was brought over here, not sure of date but possibly in the last 10 years was the 52 Ultra Carbine. I bought one (bought as a .177, but it came .22)
Very rare to find one in .177. Pretty much only .22
I was told that the .177's that did land over here, were sent back and replaced with .22

I have never seen .177"s Ultra Carbines anywhere.

I can remember reading sonewhere that the 48/52 performed less satisfactorily in .177 than .22. It may have been in the last edition of John Walters book.
I have only ever had it in .177 so I cant really comment.
