    BSA RB Airsporter Carbine.

    Dear all,

    I have had this for years. Carbine version seems to be very thin on the ground. But my question is;
    Have you seen this stock forend and grip finish? And what is the name of the finish?

    I have not come across that stippling finish on an Airsporter before. It's unlikely to have been factory applied but perhaps another collector knows differently?

    Currently looking for Baikal Makarov pistols with the following prefixes to the serial number: 98, T01, T09, T21, T22
    Prefer boxed or cased but will consider loose examples too.

    Never seen an Airsporter with stippling. I would agree it doesn't look factory applied as the line of the stippling is slightly different on the left and right sides. Still a very nice rifle though

    BSA RB Airsporter Carbine.

    I did this to my hw 50s stock used a dremel & small burr tool, turned out well, stained & finished with varnish to match the stock, certainy gripped a lot better than the hw non stick teflon finish.

    All standard RB2 stocks are plain and uncheckered, it's only the Stutzen that had a fancy stock.

    Far too many rifles to list now, all mainly British but the odd pesky foreigner has snuck in

    I have an Airsporter RB2k, Can honestly say that i've never seen any Airsporter stippled before, I'd say it was aftermarket!, It's a strange place to stipple that far forward, I reckon most normal folk would feel uncomfortable reaching that far for'ards unless they had arms like an Orang Utan!

    Obviously mine has had some 'aftermarket' attention by being refinished!, Have to say that I prefer darker finish on stocks but I can't be bothered to redo it!!
