Seeing as it's a ten shot magazine, I would think that the X refers to the 10 but you can say whatever you want.

Is the Steyr rifle called Pro ex, as in X or Pro ten ?

BSA Ultra Multi .22 ( Falcon Merlin 10x42T, `Tweaky` reg, HW mod, Cobra Merlin+Dipol L3 ), Skan M32 .177 (3-12x44 mini SWAT), Alros Trailsman .177 (Simmons WTC 1.5-5x20 , `Tweaky` reg ), Steyr Evo 10e and a Daystate Pulsar. 177..
I don't have any info from Steyr regarding the above question, but my point of view based on manufacturers names for "both New and Old Airguns" is that "X" sounds better in today's market rather than "ten" which might evoke memories associated with items already named that way.
ie : it sounds "today (ish)" to me rather than "ten (ish)" and as such might be useful in selling a few of them (but that's JMHO).
