Three of my five are already at the party:

    • Eisenwerke PP
    • Eisenwerke MF
    • Haenel 28R

    Don't close the doors!...

    • Lincoln 'Break-action
    • Webley Senior pre-war slant -grip

OK, handsome it is. That somewhat effeminate EG no.1 pistol brings to mind of one of those floral waistcoats worn by Wild West gamblers.

In British slang an anorak is a person who has a very strong interest in niche subjects.

3 of my top 5 pistols and one possible contender feature in this one so I need to pick the 5th pistol before I narrate this episode.

So far my Top 5 air pistols of all time are (in no particular order and for various reasons):

Webley Hurricane (with Beeman target grips)
    FB Record LP2
    Crosman 600
    FWB90

And contenders for the fifth spot are:
Webley Tempest (best plinking pistol of all time IMO)
Daisy 747 (a great SSP plinker)
Senior (best made pistol ever, but not my favourite shooter)

    What do you all recon?
And what would be other people’s top 5 pistols?

    Cheers,
    Matt
    Hi Matt
Missing from your list is Walther LPM1, it’s a Walther it’s an SSP and having got both I would say it’s better than the FWB 100, bit shorter and less like pointing a stick ;-)

    Hi,
Yes I’ve shot an LPM1, and it’s built to Walther’s usual quality, but the styling is a bit ‘futuristic’ for me.

So futuristic in fact that they used it as a basis for a Blaster in one of the Star Wars movies:

    Great guns though.
Would love to get a Pardini K58, which was also based on the FWB100.

    Cheers,
    Matt

    No Gat

    I'm good with a FWB 65. A Webley. A Crossman 600, CO2. A pump??? A Gat.

Don't know your criteria, so all time best could just be how may of a design/style sold.

rather than do a top 5, I'd do a top pistol for each criteria

    E.g.
    fun: Crosman 600
bringing new shooters into the sport: tempest/senior
    accuracy: FWB 65/90/giss
engineering quailty: whichever one did get the accuracy prize
    design: tbc
    power: BSA scorpion
    all rounder: tbc

    You get the idea.
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
