    Valuation milbro g55

Hi all rough valuation please ,will then post in for sale
I have a milbro g55 in .22, doesn't have the auto opening link , some doubt in previous posts as to whether or not they all had them.
when I got the rifle it had a scope rail welded in place ,I've removed this and reblued the action.
It shoots very nicely but not a lot of power.
I also refinished th stock as it and the rest of the rifle had at some point been painted black .!
    Cheers ian

The G55 is quite rare; I have only seen one other apart from mine which is in near-perfect condition with all original parts and in .177 cal. and shoots well and the tap is auto-opening. I paid £190 for it 10 years ago. It also came with a period 1950's 'scope which I think I paid extra for but the rifle alone I would think is now worth about £200-£240.

HOWEVER if you have removed the 'scope rail, re-blued it and had to re-finish the stock and it is shooting weakly, although it is rare I would guess in that condition and in the absence of pics it is probably worth about £70-£100, but just my opinion.

    Cool

    Hi Aubrey
    Thanks for the comments,
Re power it's not an 11ft lbs rifle I would think about 6 ft lbs.
Protek thought it was worth about £300 when I showed it to them
Yours in 177 I would have thought even more as it must be rarer !
Can't post on here but happy to send photos

    Hi Ian
If Protek thinks it is worth £300 and they have actually seen it then it is probably a much more realistic estimate than mine and quite surprising so perhaps mine is worth more than I had guessed but I wonder if that is the retail price they would ask for the gun if it was theirs to sell or for a private sale?

If I recollect correctly the last one on here was for £395 in 22
The £300 was for private sale
If mine was 177 I'd keep it !

It seems I have greatly underestimated the values of these guns. I thought at the time, 10 years ago, when I bought mine that I had paid too much for it so quite a pleasant surprise!

Yep and I sold one at Birmingham Arms Fair a couple of weeks ago in good condition with a Diana 4X scope on for over £300. Only seen 3 of these over the past few years quite scarce. Regards Tim.
