Air gun shot gamages kynoch witton info

Hi gents, i recently purchased tins of gamages kynoch witton bbs shots. I would love to know more about these but cant find much. I know Gamages was a London store selling all sorts, would love to know what year are these from, what rifle pistol was this for? Were these made by kynoch witton exclusively for gamages? What does the lable mean "c2 3/11 dept10". Any info is appreciated, many thanks.

From family conversations Gamages was a London Dept store according to my late mother & Grandmother who lived in Barnett, but shopped in London late 40's till late 60's . I recall from national daily' s adverts they did mail order mainly clothes, shoes but may have sold items like this too in suitable publications ?
3/11 may well be price in pre decimal money, before 15th Feburary 1971. 3 shillings and 11 pence typical pricing rather than 4 shillings, IE nothing was priced at a pound £ , but 19/11!
Dept 10 probably dept number ? Hardware, sports ? C2 may be a supplier code? Even tho has Kynoch name on tin. My early employment was in Dept stores and multiple stores.

I'm guessing these were late 1930s or '40s. AG Parker sold 1000 .177 BSA pellets for 2/7 in 1938 but Gamages would have been pricey, being a central London department store. Plus there's no Birmingham postcode...

“ Gamages had many departments - a much larger number than modern department stores. There was a substantial hardware department on the ground floor which included specialist motor parts and car seat cover sections. There was a photographic department, and camping, pets, toys and sporting departments, the latter selling shotguns.”

They had a mail order catalogue like Littewoods and Kays I am sure in the 60's / very early 70's .......

I can't remember which one of them it was but my first shotgun (Baikal single 12 with carefully stamped in "engraving" ) in Jan 1973, was from a mail order catalogue where the bloke collected the money on a Friday. There were always guys with briefcases or milkman type money bags around in those days, like the "provident man" (some sort of loan back then) who would be pointed out as if it were a mark of shame if he was seen at your door

    Gamages

On visits to my aunt in London - late '60's/early '70's - often went to Gamages, you could easily spend half a day wandering about. When I looked them up on Wiki, found they were, in WW1, makers of the Leach Trench Catapult, which could throw a hand grenade 150 yards.

PS On vintageairgunsgallery there's a pic of a Gamages pellet ad circa 1910.
