That looks like fun - but it also looks like it will need to be pegged-down to stop it falling over?
Not a big deal and easy to set-up, so I think that you could be having some fun with one of those!
Stay safe,

Hi guys.
I'm thinking of buying the following target for some fun plinking and I was just wondering If any of you shooters out there have any experience of this reset target? I'm looking to buy something that doesn't weigh too much and Isn't too big because It will have to be carried In a bag when I go shooting. And sometimes that can be quite a walk depending on where I go. And I'm certainly no spring chicken any more, lol.
Cheers lads.

Hi all.
I actually make these targets.
I have visited many airgun ranges and so far I have not seen one without this model.
It has been selling for 15+ years without change and is probably my best seller.
They do not need to be pegged down, I have half a dozen scattered around my garden (with various top disks) and have never pegged them down.
Perhaps for sub 15-20m with a thumping .22 but other than that it will be fine dropped on the floor and shot..
The base and face plate break down to make it easier to post. If you are carrying it in a bag I would advise using something like a pair of m6 wing nuts to attach the two instead of the standard m6 nut and a need for spanners.
If you go for this target and would like a couple of wing nuts drop me a PM, I would be happy to send you some free.
I hope this helps
Dan

That looks very good Dan.
My grandson has some BB firing airguns and I am looking for a fun target for him to shoot at in his garden.
Do you think his BB airguns will have enough power to flip this target OK?

Sadly Bob, no.
I have even tried making them in 2mm steel, there is just not enough energy in a BB to lift it.
The 2mm Air Pistol Silhouettes will make a nice "ting" when hit with a BB, and may even move a little.

Or perhaps the gongs, they will show movement from BB.

Thanks Dan,
I will take a look.
Surprisingly (to me at least) my grandsons various BB airguns easily perforate the drinks cans that he currently uses for targets, but I guess the light weight of the BB's is not enough to move the target parts.
I will have to think again .

Hmmm I may have mislead you a little - if so sorry.
When you say "BB gun" I assumed "Airsoft BB gun" which is what I had the target tested with at the British Shooting Show many years ago....
... However the penny has just dropped, Your grand dude could be shooting steel or lead BBs which will carry the energy better and more of it out of the muzzle.
I'm sure one of my lower powered pistols shoots lead BBs.... I'll give it a go!
What sort of range will he be shooting and what sort of BB gun is it? Any idea of the FPS and finally plastic, lead or steel BBs?

Hi Bob
I've just been out and done some testing for you.
I have used a Gamo P23 pistol loaded with a new CO2 and Gamo Round BBs (lead).
According to my calculations, the muzzle velocity is approx 393f/s (120m/s) and the BBs are 7.6 grains.
This translates to approx 2.61ft/lb
To put this into context the BBs go through a tin can (OK aluminium soft drinks can) both sides at 2m range, but fails to go through the side and the base of the can.
When used on the target at again approx 2m (It seemed pointless challenging myself if it wouldn't reset at 2m - honest!) it was unable to reset the top disk.
Sorry.
If there is anything else I can help with please drop me a line\DM etc.
