    Steyr Challenge E

Hello chaps, as I have not been a member of a club for some time now,I am thinking of having a clear out of my 10M rifles and pistols. The first I would like a new home for is the Steyr challenge E.I have had a look round but I'm struggling to find a valuation, any help with a realistic asking price much appreciated.

It's a hard one to value as you just don't see them, they are not wanted by the FT/HFT guys and are not really for a range or plinking, they are pretty niche in the market I see them on the web new for anything from £2200 from Krale shipped to the UK or for over £3k in the UK So I think most people would have one shipped as the saving is significant.

I think you either find someone who really wants one, or you don't, I don't think there is much middle ground unless your going to have it converted to 12fpe, in which case just by a normal challenge

Sorry I can't be of more help, but there is little to go on, so with you knowing how old it is, how much interest there will be in it, and what you paid for it, then you probably have a better idea than most people already - getting it may be another thing entirely though

There are probably better forums to use but plenty of 10m pistols are bought and sold on here. I think you just need to pick a price you would be comfortable with. You might get a bite on here. I've found a lot of kit like that (pistols inc) gets sold within clubs. People invariably know the seller and or, they and the rifle/pistol can be vouched for by other members if its being sold to someone new.

I've just shot my 10m round for Feb this afternoon with my Anschutz 2002 SSP. I'd have a 10m Challenge if I could as I have a Challenge HFT for FT and a Steyr Evo10E for my 10m pistol.

    Unfortunately I'm just not flush

As jesim1 mentioned a quick search sees prices range from approx £2200 to £3200.

To convert these to 12ftlb (for FT and/or HFT) it is very very easy and can be done for approx £50 and selling the front tube and rear diopter should make approx £250 SH...... That might help someone decide if they want to use it for something outside of 10m.

I'm thinking that £1600 to £1700 would be about right.

For 10m gear you'd do well to post it on Neil Stirton's Forum.

Plenty of people there are looking for quality 10M gear (or have club mates who are).
