    Hi Matt

    I'd probably use a hot air gun, I don't think the workpiece needs a lot of heat to improve the finish, I recently blued the guard parts of an old bayonet as it was badly pitted, I cleaned the rust off then warmed it, I think with a blowlamp (May have been over the gas ring, I've forgotten now!) then applied the G-96, It dried immediately and looked much better!
