In British slang an anorak is a person who has a very strong interest in niche subjects.

I love the comment about the British public. Some things never change it seems.

    What an interesting article.

I recall going through a similar learning experience as the author when as a lad well over sixty years ago I bought my first Webley mk 1 second- hand for 30/- (I still have it) and took several days and hundreds of pellets to finally evolve a technique of taking progressive pressure on the trigger and at the same time maintaining a steady grip and releasing the shot only when the sight picture was correct and not 'hanging on' for too long.

    Happy days!

'One holds with the tremor suggestive of unwise living'

'Good shooting propensities coupled with a sound mechanism are it's predominant features'

They don't write reviews like that anymore.

I think that even now if you can learn to shoot a Webley pistol well, you can shoot any air pistol.

    Great stuff,
    Matt

Thanks for the interesting review. The language is very much of its time nut that is part of what makes it an interesting read. If you are getting a stiff neck reading it then this might help a bit:

I loved the first of those too. An excellent review that has stood the test of time.
