RIP Mr Jones
RIP Ian,
Just caught up with this. Very sorry to hear this news.
Never met him, but soon realised that he was a very knowledgeable guy with all things airgun, with an inspirational collection.
His comments about "Wobbly Webleys", and "Swamp Donkey" Relum's , never failed to raise a smile.
He clearly did so much for airgunning over the years
Condolences to family and Friends.

Very sad news. One of the truly great characters in the sport.
RIP old pal.
I think Ian had a secret love for the Tornado - look at how he used to avoid getting fingerprints on the bluing. :-

I like all on here wish his family our sincere condolences. I am truly shocked at hearing the news and still trying to process the information. Characters like Ian are irreplaceable.
Been out of the country for the last week and only just caught up with this news.
Like many, my only dealings with Ian were virtual through this forum, over the years he has been unfailingly helpful and a true credit to the forum and the shooting world.
My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
I e-mailed Ian as RR secretary 6 years ago.
Ex-forces and would like to get into the sport.
Welcomed from day one and showed with others how to set up, zero and parallax.
In the years since I have cried laughing with that man whether it be at the indoor or the outdoor, shooting polos from 40 odd yards.
I went to the club today and to say subdued is an understatement, as the place will never be the same.
Andy Macs spider is still in the cupboard and I still have that roll of bubble rap you asked me to keep.
Miss you Ian, a true gent and ultimate wind up merchant.
In tears
John
