Webley Senior in Box, Is it any good?

Webley Senior in Box is it any good?

i picked up this pistol as a favour really from a deceased estate a few years ago. I had to pay some money £50 to charity to collect it, which on inspection I thought it was in excellent condition so paid another £50 in kind. When you hold the pistol you can’t help but admire the workmanship, quality components and deep blueing. It feels compact and weighty in the hand, lovely really. When I got it, it was really stiff to shoot, I doubt if it has been used much if at all. It came with a little bottle of Webley and Scott oil.So I followed the instructions on the box and lubed it a little. I have a few pistols from back in the day and this little one is fun to put a few pellets through it now and again. It’s got enough woomph to knock a few tins over…I guess they must of been relatively expensive when they were made, so would have been used. This one looks completely original and has hardly been used. Is this what a collector of them is after?

Photos to be kindly added by David.

It certainly is a prime example of a late pattern Senior that any collector would pleased to add to their collection.

Smashing example. Personally I think the postwar Senior is the pinnacle of Webley pistols in terms of design and quality, although the Premier has a better, more adjustable trigger. Wonderful acquisition and the price was only half what it's worth or less!

Simply gorgeous, as has been said the pinnacle IMHO. I have one and treasure it but a million miles away from that condition.
