    Previous owners mod? Personally in my limited experience not heard of or seen scope rail on aCadet or Cadet Major.
    Target model to take Diopter sight?

    Its just I aquired the gun but dont know why you cant expand picture, have added another picture so hope it helps?

    That scope rail looks decidedly non-original... but if it works, I'd leave it alone.

    My thoughts too, reasonably well made from photos ( thanks, lot clearer) removing might cause few issues as screwed into spring tube.

    Thanks to all who replied and helped ID the gun as a Cadet. (btw I dont intend to do anything about the scope rail)
