Some most excellent recommendations, chaps. And very compelling argument for the more softly sprung 99.

Nice!! And thanks! Good to chat to you all!! How are you guys doing?

I kinda thought as much on the air gun point, I just didn’t know if anything else had come up but the hw’s are just fantastic. I managed to borrow an Imp for the weekend so the boy can have a play just to see if he can use it. I figured with the hw’s it would be easy to buy another stock if I decided to chop down the old one to help him out in his early years.

Il also be looking for an in expensive 4x32 or a 2-7x32 for the scope what’s out there now?

The HW98 does. It’s a front heavy breakbarrel with an adjustable sporter stock. It leaves me a little confused and is the only HW springer I’ve not had

Stuff that, you can get a Cometa top of the range Fusion or 400 with a walnut cheekriser stock and a lifetime warranty included for much less. I think the laminate option is another £50 which is still under

If you get a good one they are a decent rifle, but it is the luck of the draw as to whether you get a good one or not.

The lifetime warranty will become void if you tinker with it.

Just like the 99 then, I guess there’s always a friday gun slip through.

Same as all manufacturers then if tuned/messed/modified, but what about general servicing as Id think a 10yo springer may need a seal or spring, Id think that is acceptable. But you make a valid point and one worth checking if your planning to rely on that warranty
