Lebanese shooter Fady Kiwan on the top step of the podium at the Rimfire and Air Rifle Benchrest World Championship in Plzen, Czech Republic.

An outstanding victory for the Brockock Ghost pre-charged pneumatic (PCP) air rifle, which in the hands of Lebanese shooter Fady Kiwan, a member of the official BRK team, took first place in the 50m Unlimited Air Rifle Class by achieving a new record score.

Pre-charged pneumatic air rifle manufacturer Brocock can be more than satisfied with the result achieved by one of its top shooters at the Rimfire and Air Rifle Benchrest World Championship held in Plzen, Czech Republic, from July 26 to August 4, 2023, and attended by 237 shooters from 22 countries. The event was held under the auspices of the World Rimfire and Air Rifle Benchrest Federation (WRABF) and the European Rimfire & Air Rifle Benchrest Shooting Federation (ERABS), the two federations that coordinate rimfire and air rifle bench rest shooting worldwide respectively, and had among its main sponsors the ammunition manufacturers Lapua, JSB, as well as Kalibrgun, a PCP air rifle manufacturer from the Czech Republic.

The competition saw so many top-level performances, but standing out above them all was Lebanese shooter Fady Kiwan, from the official BRK team, who took first place in the 50m Unlimited Class, 3 Gun Class and set a new world record for the highest score with 721.25 points.

What makes this event even more special is that this was the first WRABF championship won by Fady Kiwan. But that's not all: this championship brings together the best shooters from around the world, some of whom use extremely specialized (and expensive) Benchrest rifles.

Instead, Kiwan competed with a BRK Ghost rifle, which is usually offered on the market as a bullpup rifle for hunting and informal shooting. The Lebanese champion sensed that it would be a good choice for top-level competition, and the facts proved him right.

Fady Kiwan competed in the following categories:

LV (Ligt Varmint) at 25 meters.
HV (Heavy Varmint at 25 meters.
    UL (Unlimited) at 50 meters.
Most shooters use a different rifle (sometimes even a different brand) for each discipline; Fady Kiwan, on the other hand, used the same BRK Ghost carbine for all three competitions, simply changing the barrels between competitions (which takes very few minutes), a practical demonstration of how extremely versatile the Ghost platform is.

Fady used the following configurations to compete in the three different classes:

.177 (4.5mm) with 43-cm (17") barrel for LV (Light Varmint) at 25 meters
.177 (4.5mm) with 58-cm (23") barrel for HV (Heavy Varmint) at 25 meters
.22 (5.5mm) with 71 cm (28") barrel for UL (Unlimited) at 50 meters.
At the end of the competition, Fady Kiwan came home with the title of world champion in the 50m Unlimited Class, world champion in the 3 Gun class and the new record holder for the highest score in the 50m Unlimited Class.

Brocock Ghost: reliability and ease of use

The three versions of the BRK Ghost rifle with different barrel and air bottle lengths: from above High Power, Plus and Carbine.
For its part, the BRK Ghost rifle has clearly demonstrated all its qualities: it is a versatile, multi-caliber shooting platform that allows barrels of different lengths to be mounted on the same receiver, excellent for informal shooting, hunting (where allowed) but also for sport at the highest level. This is a rifle featuring a solid construction, extremely reliable and easy to adjust. It is therefore an excellent gun for both the neophyte and the experienced shooter, who is looking for a "definitive" rifle of field-proven quality.
