    Air Arms Alfa Project pistol

A recent purchase and what an enjoyable pistol to learn target shooting with. Anyone else have one?

Had a minor problem this afternoon when having shot about 80 pellets the pistol expelled all the remaining air in the tank. I attached my stirrup pump but the pistol wouldn’t hold the air. Tried my Air Venturi Nomad 2 compressor and the same thing happened. I phoned up the seller and he said to cock the pistol and try again. Cocking the pistol cured the problem, pistol now charged and ready for use. Apparently pistol is regulated and as soon as the air falls below a certain pressure the remaining air is expelled automatically.

When the air in the cylinder drops below a certain lever there is not enough pressure to keep the firing valve shut. This lets all the remaining air escape up the barrel. This has caught me by surprise one night when I had gun in the cabinet in the wardrobe, that had a slow leak, got to this point and discharged itself without warning.
