    Holts unsold lots

Unsold lots from auctions in December here including, dare I say it, some fairly reasonable prices:

Lots of interesting and some cheap guns there .. Smith & Wesson Model 80 rifle, Hammerli Master target pistol, three LP53s, a Bonehill Britannia …

And a Webley Patriot without a stock for £6.50. Provided you’ve a slot on your FAC .. there’s one with a stock for £30 more.

An HW 30 at £135 looks ok but a MK2 Meteor at £32 is a bargain.
The more I think I know, the more I realise the less I know.

    Postwar Diana 27 with 3-ball trigger in what looks like good nick for £26. I think I see a 1920s Diana 22 or 23 for £19.50. A lovely 1930s Diana 25 for £32.50...

The sellers must be receiving peanuts for them.

Yes they’ll get nothing or it will cost them to sell them. They have a minimum lot fee of £18 and photo fee of £6
I got caught by that I had to sell guns for a deceased estate one section 1 shotgun in the end sold for £15 it cost £9 to sell it. Made an interesting chat with the deceased family lucky I could show them all the paper work!

I looked at that one, as I like older co2 stuff like that, but had alot of reviews mention the jamming of the magazine

But this is a 'buy it now' sale of unsold lots, where the prices apparently include '(fees and all relevant VAT)'.

This buy it now is based on their bottom estermate plus their fees for the lot, so you are paying what you would have got the item for if you had bid on it at the live auction. so they are still getting their cut out of it. clever way of doing it.

I'm guessing you have to collect these in person these days?

I think they will post prewar items. I once bought an unsold lot, a prewar Diana 27, maybe 10 years ago and they posted it for £20 IIRC.

Their post charge seems to have gone up greatly. I bought an age-exempt air pistol recently (so can be sent direct) and they charged £40 delivery. Which is taking the p** more than a little. I know they have time and materials cost to pack etc, but given the contract courier rates they’d pay TNT/Parcel Force etc, they are profiteering from that as well.
