Crosman 2200 magnum Walnut

I bought this new some twenty years ago and had a problem with the forend, I should had return it.
Anyway I bought a new replacement forend form a parts dealer but it wasn't pre drilled to take the roll pins.
I couldn't get anyone to drill it, tried all the usual apart from the candlestick maker.

I got fed up of it being in pieces in a box so I bought a piece of walnut from a well known auction site.
Again no one would turn it into a forend pump handle so I did it myself!

The valve after twenty years still had air in it and the original butt pad has split into two, hence the HW recoil pad.
The Crosman butt pad is a hard plastic like Bakelite, I guess it's gone brittle?
I have the box (marked 75th anniversary),scope etc that came with it.

How much is it worth?

I've owned a Model 1, a couple of 766s and some 2100s over the years. Yours looks very nice. Well done on the forend and recoil pad work.

Value? Really not sure. Pure guess......circa £200 to the right person? But, if at all possible, it has to be a keeper, especially with the work you've put into it.

That is very nice job you have done.. i have a boxed model 1 but the rear Williams notched sight is missing so if anyone has one they would sell I'd be interested.. that walnut looks better than the original wood.

2200w boxed is quite rare i'd say 260 but whether it'd sell at that price i don't know

I've got a 2200w here which is in a anniversary box aswell, Always fancied putting a scope on it but the dove rail dont stick up much, Are normal mounts ok to use on the top of these guns, Never tried before as I dont want to mark it, The condition is excellent all over and dont want to risk marking it, Only ever had a plink in the summer on the idd occasional day.

The two halves of the receiver aren't 100% perfect. One thing that I noticed when I pulled it apart all those years ago that it was slighty under tension.
Adding a scope mount could increase the tension causing stress to the diecast reciever sides.
It's an underrated an air rifle.

You will have to keep an eye on it because I believe the material used in the side plates is Mazak which can suffer from rot.

One thing I've noticed is that there is a little play where stock fixes to metal, Didn't want to mess with the 2 screws/bolts as is only minimal, But are they there to tighten the stock to the action. Thanks.

There's a bolt that runs from the butt to the reciever side plates, there's a flate plate the other end.
Another area that could cause a stress/crack failure.

Interesting thread this. I've always liked the little Crosman's. My 2200w has a gold '75 year anniversary' medallion set into the butt stock. The wood version has a much more substantial feel than its plastic brother (to be expected I suppose).

Does anyone in the UK still sell the 2100's and 2200's or are they now a thing of the past?
