    Smile Has anybody ever seen....

I collect Diana and Original airguns and have picked up an unusual Diana Mod.27 .....

    It's dated 09/83 .....

    .177 cal ....

    Made in West Germany ....

    and it's been factory parkerised.....

    Everything...including trigger, stock screws etc.

I've see the more recent parkerised Diana airguns but never a 27 from 1983.

    The rifle looks unused.

Has anybody seen or got one ? ....any information anybody has will be appreciated...

    Thanks for reading.

I'm pretty sure they did a range of models as a parkerised option in the mid 80's. I certainly remember the model 50. Some Diana’s were also branded as RWS round then, but my memory is sketchy if the RWS models were parkerised or blue.

That's most interesting, would love to see some photos.

1983 was about the end of model 27 production, parkerized special editions would have been an interesting way to clean out old stock! RWS was the usual US brand name then (imported by Dynamit Nobel), but apparently also used for special models in Europe.

I had a parkerized 50 T01, they went full military with the look. It had a front post sight with "ears," and a solid steel pillar type rear sight that must have come from a prewar parts bin. IIRC it was branded RWS but as far as I know no other parkerized models were imported here.

When I worked in a gunshop in the 1980s, we had a brand new Parkerised Original 50T01 on the shelf. It was there for months. The Parkerised variant had terrible reviews in the comics and other guns of similar price were much more sought after. But nowadays it would probably be considered an interesting collectable from a time when a gun-making giant was trying new ideas. I should have bought it with my staff discount and kept it in the box all these decades.
