    Could it have been a Norica Massimo...its the only one I know with a vented rib?? It fits your time frame not sure about german stamps though...

    AC, you may be correct but I thought mine had an all wooden stock. Excellent skills recalling this Norica. I don't think that I have ever seen one before but it looks unique. I think I want one!
    I am pretty sure it had the made in East/West Germany stamps on but it was along time ago now.
    Sadly I am at work and can't look on any gun sites (strangely the BBS works) but I will certainly look up the Norica when I get home.

    Gotta admit I'd never heard of the Norica Massimo, and don't see it in any of my reference books. But Tom Gaylord did a nice illustrated review and test of it several years back:

    Good shout it did look similar barrel wise but it had a wooden stock. Strange looking air rifle that Wildlife!
