Welcome to the forum buddy, I’m just buying a house near Kilmarnock, so not that far from you. The AWL is straightforward, but equally a PITA just getting it sorted, I can’t say police Scotland have really got their act together

If you need advice just post for it, but there is a load of background stuff in the archives.

I am also a noob, but at 69 years old I'm maybe a "old noob", The Licensing Glasgow police station is half a mile from me and I am going to go and hand in my application tomorrow, I must admit the thought of waiting months to find out if I have been granted one is putting me off a bit.

Didn't find the licence process complicated... just really protracted!

I'm sure there's a lot of work in background we don't see.
