I wondered if denim would work as my silencer misbehaves and its one Material I nearly always have in scrap, Airsoft fundementally works the same as a conventional air rifle, they just don't go for kinetic force because they are designed to be used on people.

Either thick felt or green pan scrubbers wrapped around small hair curlers.

I wouldn't use green pan scrubbers. Some are impregnated with micro quartz crystals which I wouldn't want near my barrel/bore

I just use the Velcro type to fit, or if they are a tad too small, thin felt or old toweling around them. But I do use 3mm felt sticky pads against the facing face of the baffles ( penny washers or delrin). Slightly oversized holes compared to the baffle hole.
