Always worth keeping an eye on Aldi special buys, I purchased a nice quality stainless steel digital calliper for about a tenner a year or so ago.

If anybody is not too far from me can you let me know if your Aldi gets good stuff in?
Mines as I said useless but don't mind a little excursion if it's something worthwhile.

    Aldi bargains

I was thinking of getting one of their carp unhooking mats to use as a shooting seat/mat to sit/lay on

Bought a leg of sheep yesterday, I eat mostly pig but sheep is ok for a change. Seemed a good price for the size.

I find Mutton lovely, been ages since I last had a Scotch pie and wouldn't mind one now if it didn't send me screaming.

The bargains continue, there was a few fishing items in but I come out with bargain camping gear, a very good savings this week.

Lambs generally have a nicer much life than a Pig. A Pig being of far superior intelligence too, shame really, but as said hey ho.
Lamb also is a far far cleaner meat, no growth additives, no antibiotics and in many cases pretty organic. Down side, pretty high cholesterol, for those who are bothered by that.
And for those that really care, true Halal should produce meat that is reared as purely as possible and that the animal should die without fear. Oh and a geezer with a beard should say a few hail Mary's, or summit like that
