I don't think the r10 is much better to be fair. Plenty of better rifles for same sort of money.

£799 for a really nice new R10, I think thats pretty good value, I bought the Mk.1 when it came out, 2008 ish?
It was over £600 when I bought it 16 years ago. Still got it, and it's still a great rifle, I can't see why I need to upgrade, as it does everything I need. The only maintenance in that time was a new set of O ring seals in the last 2 years.

Slight thread deviation do you know if the older ultra SE platform will now be finished with the CLX version being the only new ultra available?

I notice all the SE (pre clx stuff) is still listed on BSA’s website

    Thanks for confirming.

So from memory the Ultra has had quite a few guises over the years.

Ultra MMC original micro movement cocking
Ultra Transition Rifle 2012-2014 now rear bolt cocking but no gauge.
Ultra SE rear bolt with gauge (SE = Second Edition)
Ultra CLX completely different platform with one piece block setup Bolt or Side Lever Specials
Ultra JSR as the SE but with shorter junior stock and some set as the lower power options.
Ultra TS is a new one on me though is this just a rebranded SE I know they do the Scorpion TS model.

Dont buy the ambi TH as the stock is horrible especially the pistol grip, the handed stocks are so much nicer fit and function.
Id look for a sorted used example rather than a new one
