My brother, his "partner" is a trendy t@rt, into everything fashionable !!!

So , he's not allowed to eat any meat !!!

However, when he visits me, like all Saffa's, he hangs around the braai fire, helping himself to generous chunks of boerewors, while his memsahib is inside trying to dictate proceedings there !!!

Then when food is done, he goes inside and eats his veggie sausages with looong teeth !!!

My kids, my g/f and I have a great chuckle about this !!!

My brother, a 6 foot 5 man, is being directed what he is allowed to eat by a 5 foot something specimen .

I'm guessing he eats decent food when ever he is out at work .

    Different strokes for different folks.

Like a previous poster, yes, people do choose what to eat, depending on experiences and circumstances, however, fashion is not high in my life .

I figured there had to be a strong connection. Was in captown last summer, drove all around the eastern cape, awesome part of the country. Half my family are in Zambia, so I try and spend time there when I can... and planning to be there for the majority of the time once I retire.

My dad lived in Nairobi in the 90’s and I spent a lot of time out there, I even found a job and had plans of spending my life there.

Sadly you are right, it is a rapidly changing place

Zambia at least is still mostly peaceful, but still plenty to improve...

    Wow , that's amazing !

My dad and his brother were both in the army during the Mau Mau uprising, dad's elder brother was killed .

Thus, when UK handed Kenya to the Mau Mau leader, we left , ended in South Africa .

But when SA first changed government, I was pretty positive it would work.

However, when Madiba handed over the reins..... the rot set in quickly.

Time to move on again, at 50 years old !!

They are both vegans because: “Ah, look at the poor little animals. We couldn’t eat them.”

He isn’t militant about it, he doesn’t mind what other people do and happily cooks meat on his barbecue for guests. He is also an avid angler, a bloodsport to many.

Oh, and he now has a shiny .17hmr of his very own

You could have at least cooked it first
One reason humans became so successful is that they had fire, and cooking gets more out of meat and veg. Why domestic dogs like both raw and cooked.

They’re called Ragondin here, and we’re overrun with them. They are classed as an invasive species and you can shoot them all year around
