What can be done with misty optics?

Budget scope, does the job. Didn't notice it was misty until I acquired another gun with a similar scope but a little clearer.

Got a nice pair of US Navy Bausch & Lomb binnos a while back. Didn't notice one side was slightly misty until someone else did.

Both perfectly serviceable pieces of kit and best left alone or...

If you know what you're doing or can write them off you can open them and clean them, just take care not to damage any coatings.
Lens can trap moisture over time which can eventually lead to fungal blooms which eat away the coating on lenses, I've rescued some of my USSR Camera kit in the past but I'm not an epert by any means.

    B&L

B&L come under Bushnell now so maybe worth asking the UK importers if they can be serviced. Mach 1.5

My knowlege of this is 40+ years old but when I worked at Parker Hale, the armourer had the necessary equipment to replace reticules refil with nitrogen and re-seal them. It was specialist gear in those days but whether things have changed I have no idea.

    Thanks for the info.

Err... it seems to be a good idea to clean the outside of the lenses with IPA and mocrofibre cloth now and then... scope sorted (!)

But the problem is still there with the binnos.
