Gun fit, cheekpiece height and butt pad positioning are very personal things and vary enormously depending on the user's size, stature, positioning, style and the shooting position. Some will find the standard and the CS stock mentioned totally fine, others not. The ideal would be for a stock boasting adjustable cheekpiece and butt pad. I'd guess the vast majority of us are shooting "compromised" set-ups, as opposed to ones that fit us perfectly and, therefore, may not extract the best performance from our guns.

I find the CS800 a great fit, and my 97 with a laminate one is my favourite gun

    Stock

With a 50mm scope you will need high mounts and not medium as mentioned above in your thread. Medium only go up to 45mm. Well the sport match ones do. Mach 1.5

I would recommend a CS700 rather than 800. The pistol grip is too vertical on the 800 , leading to heavy trigger pull.

I much prefer the CS800 to the CS700 Nick, have had both on break barrels and under levers, and have found the 800 better for hunting and targets, but my mate is the opposite, it is best to try and handle a custom stock first if possible.
