    Gun shops/smiths in Hertfordshire?

Following on from tools parts thread I thought I'd better as if theres anything near me in case I need to get specific kit and also just get to have a mooch once in a while.
I do know about Lea Valley but other than that all I tend to get in searches is Airsoft places thats a bit of a different kettle of fish to an Air Rifle.

    Thanks in advance

Plus one for Ronnie Sunshines, I travel up there from Southampton

When I lived in Stevenage you had Park Street Guns near St Albans, there was one in Hitchin, Letchworth, and a very good one in Baldock (Sun Street?), the owner of which was heavily involved in a fledgling FT club up by the A10/Buntingford

Thanks guys, do you know whereabouts in Hitchin, Letchworth or Baldock? I'll be able to run a google search on the right area then, those will be the most ideal being closer but I think I can make Berkhampsted without my back giving out or within reason to bribe the old man to drive.

Just googled, and looks like in the 20+ years that I've been away from Stevenage the only one still trading is Park Street Guns near St. Albans/London Colney

No worries, I know I didn't remember seeing one when I'd been around there but I thought I'd check in case it was just lurking down a side street, so looks like it's just Ronnie Sunshines and Park Street alongside what there might be at Lea Valley, Cheers Guys.

Definitely Ronnie Sunshines for airgun stuff as that's their main market. They also have an indoor range which I sometimes use during winter if I want to plink but not be freezing cold.

Park Street Guns is my local shop and I usually buy my cartridges there. No gunsmith though, so I'd speak to Ladbrook & Langton up the road from there for any gunsmithing requirements. Atkin Grant & Lang in Markyate has a gunsmith as well I think, and it's the best place I've found so far to shoot clays.

Will Park Street chrono my Rifle if I ask them? Just pondering that if I work on the BSA soon.

I will definately have a look as thats not super far as I used to run a delivery route not too far from there, partial to a good model shop too as I've built all sorts over the years.

if you have your rifle at Lea Valley Dave Mansfield can chrono it for you. What work are you intending on doing to the BSA?

Not convinced Park Street have a chrono on site, but they might. Can't say I've ever asked them. I know most of their smithing work goes up the road to the place I mentioned.

If you do anything to your BSA and want to chrono it, I can do that for you.

I was given a Welsh Willy kit with it to learn to work on Air Guns, I think its Spring and guide but will check the pack out to go over what I have.

Thank you, was just where Tinbum and Tony said I need to make sure it doesn't breach the limit when the kit goes in.

Yes it's advisable to test while doing any work. A small change can make quite a difference to power level. With a springer (and especially a budget/BSA one) you'll probably not want it running too near the limit, as they often feel noticeably less pleasant to shoot.
