    Misty Hawke scope.

I bought a Preshot rifle earlier this year and sat on top was a Hawke panorama 6-18x 50 IR AO scope.
I liked this scope and it was great until the sun came out, then it got very milky.

I emailed Hawke asking if it was possible to have this scope serviced. Next morning I had a reply offering to look at the scope, advise me what could be done or in the alternative a discount on an equivalent scope.

I returned the scope to Hawke who then replied to me by email saying nothing could be done to restore my scope.
Included was a link to the Hawke website and a 50% discount code.
I have ordered a new scope which arrived today. The scope is covered under their lifetime warranty.

My initial email was on a Sunday afternoon. I posted my scope on Wednesday and DPD delivered today, Saturday. The whole process taking 6 days.

Now my scope was not under any warranty, it was secondhand.
I feel Hawke have gone above and beyond in this matter.

Did you tell them it was bought used ??

Last time I had a scope fail they were extremely awkward about it, wanting the original receipt, & then offering a much lower spec than the one which had failed, (that I had owned from new).

Even giving a 50% discount I bet they at least break even on the deal, due to the wholesale price, while you are out of pocket for however much you paid,
When you take a step back, I don't actually think that's a very good deal.

    But hay if you're happy.

Yes. I told them it was secondhand.
I had a choice off the website.
I went for a side focus instead of an AO scope. I added a sun shade and got discount on that as well.

Better than being told its out of warranty TSB.

I had to return one under warranty which I had from new but couldn't find a receipt unfortunately. I ended up with the same deal as you. I was happy with the service, just a shame I wasn't more diligent at keeping my receipts!

A brilliant outcome. But Misty Hawke sounds like it could be one of Donald Trump’s floosies.
