My very favourite Webley air pistol of all time especially when accompanied by an original box.
Congratulations on finding such a nice example.

    Pape

HI Stu, I have had a few pre war Webleys with Pape on the back strap. Years ago I went to see a Pope air rifle, it turned out to be a BSA light Pattern with Pape stamped on it! Straight grip Senior is one of my all time favorite pistols. You are building up a very good collection!

The Pape stamp gives it a little more provenance and an excellent bonus.

nice pistol,as a matter of interest to me,what is the length of the grip on the straight grip senior?I'm used to shooting the wood grip mk 1s but the grip is a finger short to be ideal,my little finger has to go below the bottom of the grip.from the bottom of the compression tube to the bottom of the handle is 3" on the mk 1.
